Blurred lines: Art & Engineering Blend into Jewelry

The Idea

Diana is the founder of daYana Jewelry, more than 10 years in the making from the inception of the idea that came over 50 years ago from Diana’s father. A gift to her mother, Diana’s dad put the stones of her family into a ring for her mother. This ring was adorned by all three daughters and was always worn by her mother. A memory that forever lasts from her childhood.

High school brought about experience in retail, and Diana learned 1st hand how to create displays that attract people into stores. She also learned that she did love to connect with people. She was very grateful that she had an opportunity to work in retail with different people coming in looking for very similar things: unique gifts.

At the end of High School, Diana enrolled in Engineering at the most beautiful campus in Canada, the University of Western Ontario. She never loved engineering, but did love the ability to create. Her classes in Cad Design intrigued her, and years later this skill would be used again.

Then came graduation, and corporate work. Diana was always blessed with work from top notch companies in the Energy space, but always had a passion for entrepreneurship, something she learned from her parents very early on. After 30 years in the corporate setting, working in Business Development, Sales and Marketing, and Project Management, Diana launched her own companies: daYana Jewelry & FUSE B2B.

An engineer by training, with over three decades of technical experience, and she brings that mindset to fine jewelry in a way that’s rare: not to make it complicated, but to make it feel effortless.

…daYana Jewelry lives at the intersection of place, precision, and meaning. South Beach provides the visual language. Engineering provides the discipline. Family provides the heart.

Inspired by South Beach Art Deco

South Beach isn’t just inspiration for Diana, it’s structure. The curves. The symmetry. The clean lines that feel glamorous without trying too hard. Art Deco buildings do something special: they look simple at a distance, and the closer you get, the more intentional every proportion becomes.

That’s the feeling Diana designs for.

Pastel against white stone. Ocean light catching a rounded edge. Shapes that feel modern, even when they’re borrowed from another era. Dayana pieces carry that quiet confidence, architectural, refined, and designed to be worn often, not saved for someday.

The ART DECO Appeal: originated in France before spreading internationally as a symbol of luxury, glamour, and technological progress…exactly what daYana Jewelry symbolizes.

Meaning You Can Build On

Diana believes jewelry should hold meaning and grow with life. The idea traces back to a family tradition, a piece designed to add gemstones over time to commemorate new chapters.

KIS carries that same spirit. It can be worn as an earring, necklace or bracelet and it is designed to evolve so your piece can change as your story does.

KIS is also double-sided, with diamonds on one side and complementary stones on the other, for beauty and symbolism from every angle.
